The Next Generation Fiddlers is a group of students ages 4-17 that are taking private lessons and group lessons. They play a combination of old time and Irish fiddle tunes, bluegrass, classical string orchestra music and their own improvisations. The Next Generation Fiddler’s offer community service performances at the Four Corners Health Care Center (Nursing Home) each month during the school year. This is a heart-warming experience and a great way for students to become familiar with the performance aspect of being a musician in a low pressure situation. The group also offers street performances in downtown Durango in the spring and fall, and they will perform at the Durango Cowboy Parade, the Durango Holiday Market, the Durango Celtic Music Festival, the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown, the Dandelion Festival, and the Durango Farmers Market this year.
